  • Disconnect. Unplug from the rest of the world by turning off your mobile devices and the internet. Better yet, turn off all the electronics you have at home.
  • Get up an hour earlier or retire one hour earlier at night. If you live with your family or roommates, you might only be able to spend time alone when everyone else is asleep. You might then consider getting up before everybody else does.
  • Close your door. If you are a parent, you can give instructions to your kids or other family members to not disturb your solitude unless there’s an emergency. They should be able to respect your “Do Not Disturb” sign, too.
